SC 932 2012 Awards Ceremony

 The J. F. Byrnes 2012 Awards Ceremony was held today in the Cafeteria. We would like to thanks all our cadets for their achievements and awards, and to reflect on the past year and to look forward to the upcoming year.

Orienteering March 24, 2012

On March 24, 2012 Sc-932 took a trip orienteering to Kings Mt. North, Carolina. A total of 45 cadets recieved the Orienteering ribbon for completion of the any of the courses available at Kings Mt. National Military Park. Cadets learned map and compass navigations and how to navigate their way through the woods.

CIA Trip "Air meets Sea" Norfolk, VA

This years Curriculum-in-Action trip is to Norfolk, Virginia. Departure time from Byrnes High School is 1200, Wednesday April 25th. The bus will then proceed to BFA to pick up cadets at that location. Departure from BFA is 1230. Cadets will return from the trip at approximately 1600, Sunday, April 29th. The cost is $200. Cadets will need to bring at least $25 dollars for some food expenses.

Tickets go on sale for Seniors on April 10th and for Freshman April 11th.

This years attractions will be; the USS Buttercup Damage Control Trainer, Oceana F-18 Fighter Squadron Tour, American Rover Sailing Ship, USS Wisconsin tour, Norfolk Nauticus, Virginia International Tattoo Military/Non-Military Drill and Ceremonies, Challenge Discovery Ropes Course, and Game Show/Dinner/Dancing night.





IMPORTANT
In order to attend this trip cadets must return ALL permission slips signed by a parent or guardian. If parents have any questions regarding any of the events taken place, they are welcome to come and attend the CIA Parent meeting at 1700 (5:00PM) on Wednesday, April 13th.

Military Ball 2012

This years military ball was a huge success and we would like to thank all the cadets who helped piece this years military ball together. We would also like to thank Optrix for the wonderful decorations they provided for us for our theme.




SC-932 hosted this years military ball at USC Upstate's ANG Readiness Center, with 300 cadets and special guest attending. Cadets enjoyed a lavish white chocolate and milk chocolate fountains. Cadets also enjoyed the entertainment put on by 2nd semester Honors flight and Military Ball Committee.

D. R. Hill Middle School Recruiting Drive

On 22 February 2012, 21 AFJROTC cadets went to D. R. Hill Middle School for the recruiting drive. Two cadets went to each individual 8th grade class to speak about Byrnes AFJROTC. Cadets enjoyed talking and interacting with students from D. R. Hill Middle School. Cadets talked about; Orienteering, Special Teams, Model/Rocketry Club, and much more. Cadets enjoyed their trip to D. R. Hill Middle School and look forward to going back next year and hope to see some familiar faces in JROTC next year.
