Washington D.C. Trip is a Great Success

Sunday night, 50 cadets and chaperones returned home from an excellent trip to our nation's capital, as well as a couple of other fun places.

They left Byrnes on Wednesday for a 10 hour bus ride to arrive at the hotel later that night.

The next day, the cadets enjoyed tours of the Naval Academy as well as the Maryland State capital. That night they took in the sites and great food of Baltimore Harbor.

The following morning, they walked around at Arlington cemetery, after a quick stop at the Air Force Memorial, and were lucky enough to catch the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
After that, the cadets split into separate groups. One group went to tour the museums along Lafayette Park and the other group went on the legendary "Death March" around D.C. to see the monuments and memorials.

And finally, on Saturday, the trip ended with a fun day of rides and amusement at Kings Dominion in Virginia. Then they woke up early Sunday morning to have a long, tiring, yet fun bus ride home.

When they returned home Sunday everyone was excited and tired from all the fun on this trip. Washington D.C. was a great place full of history, fun, and now, memories for SC-932.
