Byrnes AFJROTC Cadets Concentrating on the Community

During the month of February, Byrnes AFJROTC cadets have already volunteered much of their time doing community service. On Wednesdays, Honors Flight visits Ashlan Village, a local assisted living facility. Both cadets and residents enjoy their time together whether playing bingo, putting on a show with the karaoke machine, or displaying their marching skills. The visits are the highlight of the week for residents and students alike. Recently, the Corps undertook a major school service project spreading mulch around the high school campus. Participants had fun beautifying the campus while ignoring the bitter cold weather. Two full truck-loads of mulch were delivered and spread that day, with another “Mulch Day” scheduled for later this week to finish the project. We would like to thank all cadets who have participated in community service this month!
